Betty Davenport

Betty Jean Davenport, 76 of Little Rock died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Baptist Health Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1932, in Little Rock to Walter Frank Worstell and Ethel Irene Burnett.

She was a graduate of Joe T. Robinson High School where she was an avid basketball player, after more than 20 years, she retired from AT&T.

Davenport was a faithful member of the Otter Creek Assembly of God Church. In addition, she enjoyed playing games with fellow residents at The Cottages at Otter Creek, loved the Razorbacks and truly loved her family.

Survivors include two sons; Richard Davenport (Megan) of Maumelle and Steven Kuykendall (Maggie) of Batesville; four daughters; Kathy Halverson (Don), Sherry Dean, Linda Highfill (James), and Rebecca Wadsworth (Rick) all of Benton; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert Leroy Davenport; one brother, Roger W. Worstell; one sister, Barbara S. Stane; and two grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Highfi ll and Bradley Kent.

Graveside services by Griffin Leggett Forest Hills were Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Little Rock National Cemetery.
