Ellen V. Love

Ellen V. Love, 89, of Benton died Sept. 14, 2008, at her home in Benton.

She was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Campbell, Mo., to Gertie and William Adams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Love; three brothers, Earl Adams, Guy Adams and Beryl Adams; and one sister, Rosie Mills.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Rector. When her children were young, she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School at Calvary Baptist Church in Benton. She played the organ in church when she was a teenager. She worked in a creamery in Rector during WWII. She was a Brownie Scout Troop Leader, homeroom mother, and for a while sewed cloth for airplane wings for the Benton Airport.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Jackson and husband Rusty of Hot Springs, Sandra Burnett and husband Curtis LaVoy of Benton, and Sharon Harris and husband Dennis of Sardis; a sister, Billie Swartzlander of California; four grandchildren, Brent Jackson and wife Nancy of Hot Springs, Brandy Woods and husband Jeremy of Little Rock, and Mandy Nichols and husband Michael of Benton; three greatgrandchildren; Samantha Jackson, Aaron Jackson and Allie Nichols, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Forest Hills Cemetery. Minister will be Bro. Dale Perry.

Memorials may be made to the UAMS Reynolds Center, Little Rock.

Pallbearers are Jeff Bloom, Tom Harris, Michael Nichols, Danny Ivy, James Alexander, Brent Jackson and Cody Burnett.
