The Bryant Hornets baseball season came to an end in the first round of the 7A-State playoffs at DeSalvo Stadium in Burns Park.
The Hornets lost to the Van Buren Pointers, the fifth seeded team from the 7AWest, 11-5.
Van Buren scored twice in the top of the first inning and added six more runs in the top of the second to break the game open with an 8-0 lead.
The afternoon outing at North Little Rock, didn't go the way the Hornets, who finished fourth in the 7ACentra had hoped.
Kaleb Jobe took the loss for the Hornets, with Tyler Sawyer and Brady Butler seeing action on the mound in the game.
The Pointers put up two more runs in the top of the third inning to extend their lead to 10-0 thanks in part to five Bryant errors. The unlikely and untimely errors allowed Van Buren to put up another run in the top of the fourth.
Bryant came back to score two runs in the bottom of the fourth and three more in the bottom of the sixth. The Hornets totaled six hits to Van Buren's nine hits.
