A special meeting to discuss the working agreement for services between Saline County and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will be 6 p.m. tomorrow in Saline County Courthouse.

This is Be Kind To Animals Week. The Humane Society of Saline County is encouraging local schools to help celebrate:

• Today: The Great Outdoors - Wear camouflage or other natural colors to help blend in with nature the way many of our outdoor animals do. Help an outdoor animal by putting up a bird feeder in the schoolyard, plant flowers to attract butterflies or put up a bat house! Plan a walk around the neighborhood to clean up the environment.

• Tomorrow: Be Kind to Your Animal. Have your students bring in pictures of their pets to share with their classmates. Ask them to spend an extra 30 minutes with their pet by brushing, playing, or walking them.

• Friday: Birds of A Feather Flock Together. Dress like your best friends.

A Spring Cleaning Parking Lot Sale will be Saturday, May 17 at Benton Senior Activity Centera, 210 Jefferson St., Benton. All persons are welcome. Rent a 12-by-12 covered space for $10, or rent an uncovered space for $5.
