To the citizens of Benton and Bryant
On Thursday, April 3, the cities of Benton and Bryant suffered a great amount of damage due to the storms and tornados that ripped through Central Arkansas. Emergency, police, fire, utilities and street personnel spent Thursday night through the weekend working to bring those in the most damaged of areas to safety, restore power and clear debris. We will continue that work until all citizens needs are met.
As mayors for our cities, we commend all city personnel for their tireless dedication to our citizens who were injured, displaced and suffered damages. We especially extend our gratitude to 1st Pentecostal Church on Highway 5 North and all other churches, businesses and volunteers who responded immediately to the needs of those affected by the storms and tornado(s). Their assistance in providing food, shelter and comfort to our citizens was and remains invaluable.
We both join countless others in extending our thoughts and prayers to those affected. Our cities service personnel will work side by side with neighbors, friends and volunteers to restore our communities to normalcy as quickly as possible.
Sincerely, Mayor Holland, City of Benton Mayor Mitchell, City of Bryant
