Eugene F. Griffin

Eugene F. "Gene" Griffin, 79, of Benton died Saturday, March 29, 2008. He was born April 27, 1928, in Keo, Ark., to Edgar and Elsie Griffin.

Gene served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged Nov. 9, 1956. He was a retired Little Rock police officer of 20 years and also a retiree of the Baptist Health medical system, where he worked in security. He was member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty; two sons, Rod and Phillip; two daughtersin law, Diane and Angie; six grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Lindsey, Noah, Tara and Wezley; one great-grandchild, Griffin; one brother, Henry; and one sister, Shirley.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) in Benton, with the Rev. John Perkins officiating.

Burial will be in Griffin- Leggett Rest Hills Cemetery in North Little Rock.
