Razorbacks head coach Petrino to speak at Saline County Razorback Club Fish Fry

Arkansas Razorbacks football coach Bobby Petrino will be the guest speaker at the annual Saline County Razorback Club Fish Fry on June 12, club offi- cials announced Monday.

"We are excited as Razorback fans to have our new Head Hog coming to Saline County to speak to our annual gathering" said Alton Robertson, president of the Saline County Razorback Club. "His presence will provide a great opportunity for Razorback fans to come and meet and hear Coach Petrino and get excited about the upcoming football season."

Petrino resigned as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons to take the job as Razorbacks head coach Dec. 11. He succeeds Houston Nutt. Petrino previously was head coach at the University of Louisville, where his four-year record was 41-9, including a No. 6 Associated Press ranking after a 12-1 season in 2006. His assistant coaching experience included stops at Arizona State University, the University of Nevada, Utah State University and Auburn University.

The fish fry will be Thursday, June 12, at the Benton High School Cafeteria. Catered by Denton's Trotline, dinner will be served from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. in the cafeteria. The program will begin at 7 p.m. in Butler Auditorium at Benton High School. There will be a silent auction, door prizes and a raffle for two season tickets to Razorbacks football home games at Little Rock and Fayetteville.

The master of ceremonies will be KTHV-TV (Channel 11) Sports Director Craig O'Neill.

Each of Saline County's high school football coaches has been invited to say a few words about his school's upcoming high school football season. Also preceding the talk by Petrino will be the presentation of the Nelson Rainey Award, given annually to the Arkansas Razorbacks football player who most epitomizes the life of the late Nelson Rainey of Benton.

Tickets for adults are $15; children's tickets are $10. They may be purchased at the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce, Yoakum and Lovell C.P.A. in Benton and the Sport Shop of Benton.
