'Luncheon on the Lawn' will benefit single parents

Central Arkansas Development Council Saline County Single Parent Scholarship Fund will hold a “Luncheon on the Courthouse Lawn” at the Saline County Courthouse at 200 N. Main St. in Benton from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24.
The luncheon will include a silent auction, door prizes, and the chance to watch the 2008 political candidates campaign while holding their hands in a bucket of ice water.

The Single Parent Scholarship can be used to offset emergencies such as child care, car repair, fuel, books, and tuition not covered by other sources. Scholarships are awarded to single parents pursuing a career-oriented course of study to ensure a better standard of living for his or her family.
