Douglas Ray Giffe

Douglas Ray Griffe, 63, of Hensley died on Saturday, March 15, 2008. He was born in Little Rock, on June 9, 1944, to Bennie and Juanita Griffe. He graduated from Tech High School in 1962 and served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He later worked for Griffe's Garage and Body Shop. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 22 years as a brakeman/conductor. Doug loved to fish and hunt. He was a member of Four Square Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock, and believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ very strongly. He fought a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Judith Ray Henderson Griffe; two sons, Todd Douglas Griffe, and wife Dianna of Hensley and Bryan Thomas Griffe and wife Jenifer of Alexander; grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Griffe and Natalie Rae Griffe; step-grandchildren, Brooklyn Stuart, Nicki Lemons and Becka Mathews; parents, Bennie Ray and Juanita Griffe of Little Rock; sister Charlotte A. Simpson and husband Tony (Doug's lifelong friend) of Bryant.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Brad Baltz and staff, and also, to the staff at CARTI/St. Vincent.
