Mauline Nelson

Mauline Nelson, 87, Bauxite died Monday, March 10, 2008. She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Warren, Ark. In her early years she worked as a hairdresser. Mrs. Nelson retired from the Alexander Human Development Center and then worked as a pole setter for voters. She also worked at Head Start where she became a foster grandparent. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and an Eastern Star. Her parents, P.L. Harris and Anna Keele; husband, John Nelson and a daughter, Anna Houpt, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Bill Parrott and wife Betty of Cabot; daughter, Jo Ann Bell and husband Merwyn of Casper, Wy.; son-in-law, John Edward Houpt of Bauxite; 32 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 13, at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
