Lena K. McDade

Lena Kennemur McDade, 87, of Bryant died Saturday, March 15, 2008. She was born Aug. 25, 1920, in Protho Junction, Ark., to Floyd and Lottie Hixon. Mrs. McDade was the former owner of the Queen Manor Restaurant and of the Baptist faith.

Her parents; husbands, Ralph Kennemur and Walter McDade; three brothers, Allen, Carl and Woodrow Hixon and three sisters, Irene Munson, Elizabeth Smith and Audrey Burge, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue Kendrick and husband George of Conway and Lois Ives and husband Morgan of Bryant; sister, Ruthell Bryant of Huntsville; three grandchildren, Regina Duncan of Mabelvale, Dr. Greg Kendrick and wife Jenifer of Conway and Todd Kendrick and wife Heather of Conway; six great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Baker, Audrey, Ellen and Connor; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Herman, A.J., Sonny, Denver and Matt Hixon and Terry Duncan.

Funeral services were Tuesday March 18, at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Forest Hills Cemetery. Pastor Lynn Cook officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Soaring Wings Ranch or the Special Olympics.
