Bryant baseball set to go Head coach Terry Harper is expecting positives from his Bryant Hornets this season on the baseball diamond. "I expect good things from this year," Harper said. "We've still got experience coming back on the mound and some other areas. We'll be good on the mound and defensively, we'll be okay and as long as we have two or three hitting good, we have a chance to compete in our conference. Our goal is to win a conference championship and compete for a state title." David Guarno started at first base for the Hornets last year, but Harper intends on putting him in the outfield. "First base is wide open," Harper said. Jake Jackson returns at second base, while Cody Walker holds down the shortstop position. Tyler Sawyer is at third base and is also a pitcher, while Trent Daniel will be the Hornets ace on the mound. Daniel already has signed to play baseball for Arkansas State University next season. When Daniel is not pitching, he will be in left field with Jordan Knight in center and Kaleb Jobe behind the plate. Others such as Drew Ransdale, Anthony Rabbi, Jeremy Berge, Nick Suggs and Preston Adami will be added depth for the Hornets. "With their experience, it can go a long way for us this year," Harper said. |
