Guidebook off ers latest rules The latest edition of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's fishing guidebook is now being distributed to AGFC offices and license dealers around the state. The guide is free and contains a few changes from the 2007 guide. Some highlights: • Holders of disabled fishing licenses, along with one current fishing license holder for assistance, are allowed to fish all waters listed under Family Fishing regulations. • Mike Freeze England Community Fishing Pond is now regulated with special community fishing regulations. • There is no limit on white bass and hybrid striped bass on Lake Monticello. • Only one barbed hooking point is allowed per pole for bait-fishing throughout Greers Ferry Tailwater. • The Cossatot River (an Ouachita Zone Quality Stream) now has a daily limit of 2 smallmouth bass and they must be 12 inches or longer to keep. • A 20-inch minimum length limit on striped bass has been placed on Beaver Lake. • A trout permit is required to fish from Narrows Dam to the Highway 27 Bridge on Lake Greeson tailwater. • Round traps not exceeding three feet in diameter and six feet in length are allowed as baitfish tackle. • Smallmouth bass have a minimum length limit of 18 inches with a daily limit of one on the Buffalo River from the confluence of Clabber Creek downstream to the confluence with the White River. • Catfish snagging is legal Jan. 1 to Feb. 15 with a daily limit of five catfish (no more than two flatheads) on the Black River to the Spring River confluence as well as the St. Francis River to Payneway Structure. |
