Bryant swimmers compete in meets

The Bryant Hornets and Lady Hornets swim teams competed at El Dorado and Ouachita Baptist University over the past two weeks and have improved their individual times in preparation for the regionals in January.

Bryant head swim coach Angel Dale has been pleased with the results of the meets so far.

"I thought we did a great job at the El Dorado meet," she said. " Our team has a lot of talent this year. We just do not get enough practice time at the pool to get the edge on El Dorado. It makes a difference when you get to practice everyday. We only get to practice once or twice a week."

At Arkadelphia, the Bryant teams swam even better.

"This was a good meet for our girls," Dale said. "We were missing a few of our girls and we still made a strong showing. I was very proud of the girls forfinishing second. The girls are working hard to have a shot at the South Region title."

The Hornets boys were undermanned at the event.

"We finished seventh in the boys division, with only five boys," Dale said. "We did not have enough boys to have the 400 free relay, which hurt their score. Hopefully we will have everyone back and healthy by the next meet on January 12 at OBU. I thought the boys swam extremely well, we just needed a few more of them."
