Matlock honored for his longtime work in Extension, 4-H programs
Ron Matlock (center), Saline County Extension Service staff chairman, was recognized at the 73rd annual Arkansas Farm Bureau convention Nov. 28 in Little Rock for his achievements in Extension and 4-H work. Tom Leslie, president of Saline County Farm Bureau, and Carla Vaught, president of the Arkansas County Agricultural Agents Association, presented the Distinguished Service Award on behalf of the association. Under Matlock's direction, the Saline County Master Gardener program has 55 active members who have produced 12 community beautification projects. Matlock also produces a newsletter for beef producers and has developed a strong 4-H livestock program. Arkansas Farm Bureau is a nonprofit, private advocacy organization of more than 227,000 Arkansas families throughout the state working to improve farm and rural life.
