Silver ornament raises funds for hospice
      Silver butterfly ornaments are included in a limited edition made available through Saline Memorial Hospital's hospice program. Saline Memorial Hospital Health Foundation has issued a limited-edition silver butterfly ornament to benefit the hospital's new Hospice House.

      A "convenience center" has opened at Saline County Landfill, West Sardis Road. It saves customers some half mile round-trip rom the gate. After entering through the weigh station, drivers veer to the left, pass the office building and pull onto a large concrete slab.

'Opt out' cards, info mailed with Benton bills

      The new Share Program will help troubled Benton Utilities customers. Bills will be rounded up to the nearest dollar, to provide a fund to pay bills of customers in tough financial straits - a case of "neighbors helping neighbors," said manager Terry McKinney.
