Vera Lee Alsup Rush

Vera Lee Alsup Rush, age 63, formerly of Benton, a native of Jonesboro, Ark., and a resident of Abbeville, La., died on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Abbeville.

She is survived by two daughters, Marie George and her husband, Darren, and Patricia Erter; two sons, Eugene Rush Jr. and Tommy Rush all of Erath; 11 grandchildren all from Erath; five brothers, Ray Alsup, John Alsup and James Alsup all of Benton, Robert Alsup of Mississippi and David Alsup of Wisconsin; three sisters, Sybee Alsup of Louisiana, Nan Barlow and Mona Courtney both of Benton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her husband, Eugene Rhodes Rush Sr. and her parents, Murl and Ann Warren Alsup of Arkansas and a sister, Mary Ellen, precede Mrs. Rush in death.

Pallbearers were Darren George, Michael George, Eugene Rush, Jr., David McQuiston, Blade Thomas and Kenneth Frederick.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve McQuiston officiating. Interment followed at LeBlanc Cemetery.

David Funeral Home of Abbeville was in charge of arrangements.
