Officials hope conviction slows area copper thefts

      Copper thefts have been a serious problem in Saline County and elsewhere. Local officials hope a recent conviction will help slow those thefts. Allen Hunter, 25, of Benton, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by Circuit Judge Grisham Phillips.

Firefighters limit damage to R&N Hydraulics
      R&N Hydraulics at 23908 Interstate 30 in Bryant suffered relatively minor damage when some oil separation equipment in a small storage building connected to the main facility caught fire recently.

      Three generations of Sardis' Bradbury family have built numerous memories of family Christmas tree expeditions. It began nearly 30 years ago, when Doris and Wesley Bradbury started planting Virginia pines on 35 acres they had bought two or three miles from their home in Sardis.
