Canned food donors gain lower fares

Donors of canned food will enjoy lower South Central Arkansas Transit fares through Dec. 21.

The "Anyone Can Ride" campaign offers riders a $1 discount on the intown fare for each canned good donated. SCAT will deliver the donations to Churches Joint Council on Human Needs in Benton on Dec. 22.

SCAT provides public transportation services for anyone, regardless of income, age, or disability. SCAT services are available to anyone traveling to and from public destinations within the city.

Trips can be made outside of the city with advance notice. The regular in-town trip fare is $2 one way in Benton and $4 one way in Bryant.
