Leaders promote literacy

Local leaders visited the Benton Head Start to read books to promote learning.

Benton Mayor Rick Holland, officers from the Benton Police Department, firefighters from the Benton Fire Department, Ruth Hyatt, children's librarian at the Saline County Library, and CADC employees Jennifer Pinkston and Michelle Hood read books to the children.

The children spent 15 minutes in each reading station.
