Benton to host 6A State

The Benton Lady Panthers will host the 6A State volleyball tournament beginning Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 at Benton High School's Arena and Cook Fieldhouse.

The tournament has a $5 admissioin fee with all proceeds going to the Arkansas Activities Association, according to Benton Athletic Director Scott Neathery.

The Lady Panthers will play their first game of the tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. against the winner of Little Rock Parkview and Jacksonville.

The Lady Panthers are the number one seeded team from the 6A-South Conference. The championship game of the tournament will be held at Greenwood High School on Nov. 3.

Games will be played at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. each night. Seedings for the tournament are:

6A-South - Benton (1), Lake Hamilton (2), Texarkana (3), Sheridan (4), Little Rock Parkview (5) and El Dorado (6).

6A-East - Marion (1), Sylvan Hills (2), Jonesboro (3), Jacksonville (4), West Memphis (5) and Mountain Home (6).

The Lady Panthers won the 6A-South Conference championship for the second year in a row and enter the tournament as the top seed for the third consecutive season.
