Foster J. Slatton Foster J. "Slats" Slatton, of Mabelvale, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007. Born Dec. 9, 1918, in Delight, Ark.,, he was the oldest son of the late Ben Frank and Lesta Lala Slatton. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Exxon after 30 years of service. Slats loved and lived to be with his family and friends. He had a zest for life and a knack for bringing laughter into a room. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing and animals. He had a talent for gardening and flirting, and he could not pass up the pleasure of enjoying a good fish fry or BBQ with those he loved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Moore, Pam Shook-Owen and Kathy Botti; three brothers, Grice, Lyman and Lethal Slatton; three sisters, Juanita Gorum, Crickett Jackson and Joymae Brock; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends. |
