After a pregame incident by three Poyen players that fired up an already intense Bauxite Crushers team, the hosts showed no mercy at The Pit.
Ty Hughes opened the game with an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, then added the extra point for a 7-0 Bauxite lead. Then after forcing a Poyen punt, Hughes took the return 35 yards to the Indians 4 and Andrew Hudson scored on the next play to make it 13-0.
Later in the first quarter, Hughes had a 15-yard run and added the extra point kick for a 20-0 Crushers lead. Poyen was never in the game.
As the second quarter started, Tim Dunlap ran back a 90-yard interception for a touchdown for a 27-0 lead.
Poyen got its only score late in the fourth period.
"We played well," said Crushers head coach Dennis Hudgens. "We've got England next week, so we'll see how things go. I think we'll be better."
